Dear YY
We celebrated your 6th yr old birthday differently this year.
This was the first time we held a party for you on your birthday and invited all your friends.
It was especially meaningful for you during your last year in preschool. Birthday celebrations in our family have always been private gatherings only among our close family members. Mummy thought that since you are all grown up now, inviting your friends to attend the party would make you very happy indeed.
Your party was held in the function room of our new dwelling place. We invited your preschool friends and teachers, as well as some old neighbours whose kids you have played with since young. Throughout the celebration, you were so happy and bursting with joy. A couple of times, you couldn't contain your excitement and whispered happily to Mummy that you received so many presents! The Ben-10 3D submarine cake was a hit and you had fun decorating it with some more Ben-10 figurines. Your friends all went back with goodie bags and self-made windmills which had kept them well entertained during the party.
It was a great party and thank you, all Uncles and Aunties, for the great presents you had given!

The Boy Who Cried Wolf

Dear YY n NN
It's another day off from CM.
This time, instead of letting the 2 of you stay cooped up at home, Mummy arranged to watch The Boy Who Cried Wolf with your little CM friends and their Mummies. Together with Zavier and Ashley, you had a great time cramping in the same car for the whole day, laughing and singing your little songs.
DD, you came along with us for the day since your main caretaker, Grandma, was not back from her annual overseas trip yet.
In the theatre, all 4 of you kids requested to sit together in a row.
The play started off quite well with The Big Bad Wolf hitting the catchy tune "did you see the big bad wolf, the big bad wolf, the big bad wolf"...
However as the play progressed, the 3 younger kids started to fidget. Ashley was scared of the Big Bad Wolf, Zavier started to look for his Mummy, and NN, you complained of hunger.
YY, as per other shows, you stayed settled and concentrated throughout the whole play, oblivious to all other happenings around you. :)
Well, there is no denying that this play is more suitable for your age.
After lunch, we headed off for Polliwogs at East Coast Park. This indoor play area is similar to Downtown East Kids' Explorer, but of a smaller scale. Nevertheless, you still had a wild time playing for 2 hours plus.
Even you, dd. At your young age, you were restricted mostly to the ball pond, but you still enjoyed it very much.
This place is very relaxing as the kids get to play while parents can chill out and relax at the refreshment area which is furnished adequately with seats and sofas.
We, Mummies, had to think of ways to get you kids out of the play area after 2 hrs plus. Of course, the easiest was offering Ice Cream as enticement. After much coaxing, we finally managed to get all the kids out and proceeded to the BK next door. Too bad BK don't serve Ice Cream anymore and we settled for some light refreshments instead.
Only you, yy, you remembered about the Ice Cream promised by Mummy earlier and asked why Mummy bluffed you. Oops, seems like a contradictory ending to the lesson taught earlier at the play.
After that, it was home sweet home for all.
Wonderful outing, thanks to the fun companionship of Zavier and Ashley together with Aunty Mich & Aunty Kar Hui.

Visit The Sengkang Fire Station
Dear YY n NN n DD
Your first visit to the real Fire Station.
You had a chance to tour round the Sengkang Fire Station and had fun taking rides on the fire engine, lifting platform, and posing with the Red Rhino and other fire fighting vehicles. It was fun having a go at the jet spray and Fire Hydrant as well. Thanks to Aunty Mich who made all these possible by organising this trip.

Macs Red PEA Session at Novena Square
Dear YY and NN and DD
We stumbled upon a Macs Red PEA (Play, Exercise, Art) Session at Novena Square one sunday after your SM lesson.
You 3 had fun doing art with the finger paints made available during the session. Especially you, didi.
The puppet story telling session and exercise portion kept you well entertained too.

Da Vinci The Genius Exhibition at Science Centre
Dear YY
You have told Papa and Mummy that you aspire to be an inventor when you grow up.
This trip is meant for you. Papa thought you might like to see the works of a great inventor, and get some inspirations from there. Leonardo DaVinci (1452-1519) was better known for his Mona Lisa Portrait, or at least to your ignorant Mummy. :)
He was also an inventor, artist, scientist and thinker of all times.
YY, you went into the exhibit well equipped with a notepad and pencil, with every intention to record down the things that interest you. It was timely too as no photographing was allowed in the exhibit hall. What struck Mummy was the first exhibit of Da Vinci. It showed tiny notebook pages that Da Vinci scribbled his ideas and inventions onto. What coincidence!
Dear NN and DD, you were pretty bored as these exhibits were too profound for your understanding.
We explored the other exhibitions in the Science Centre where you 2 younger ones had much more fun. Especially at the eco-garden where the treehouse stood.
Science Experiment showing Hydrogen Gas is Combustible.

The 1st Bowling Experience
Dear YY,
It was a grab-the-ball-and-bowl kinda experience for you this time.
4 of us (minus Didi) was actually going for the 3-D movie "Up" when we passed by the bowling alley at Marina Square. We had only 30 minutes to spare before the start of the movie, and Papa thought of letting you have a go at bowling.
Not much time to trial and error for you, but still sufficient to have a complete game.
You had fun of course!
NN, surprisingly, you were pretty sensible when Mummy explained to you that the bowling ball is too heavy for you.
Loving you all

National Day 2009
Dear YY n NN n DD
Yr 2009 would be the last year we spent National Day at your 1st Home in Punggol 21. The RC National Day Celebration would also be the last public event that Papa helped out in Coral RC as a grassroot leader. We are shifting to our new premises in a month's time or so.
You had fun celebrating in your preschool (YY, and NN), and had equally fun time enjoying the activities lined up for the celebration near the basketball court at our block downstairs.
YY, you asked Mummy how come this year we are not going to the actual NDP at Marina. My dear boy, Mummy didn't manage to get any tickets this year. You are actually a very lucky boy. Only 6 years old, and you have already been to NDP 2x, both at the old stadium, and the new floating platform. The fireworks were real nice up close and personal right?
Hugs & Kisses
Mummy
p.s: Dear YY, 2009 is also the last year you celebrated National Day at your presch. Come next year, you will be celebrating in your Primary school. :)
