Hong Kong Trip - Day 6

Last Day in Hongkong

Hong Kong Trip - Day 5 - Back to HK

Dear YY n NN
Mummy finally had time to pen down the remaining 2 days of our HK trip after a lapse of more than a week.

On this 2nd last day of our trip, we had wanted to bring you 2 to the fisherman wharf, where there is a mini amusement park (something suitable for you kids at last, in Macau). But the opening hours were 11am, which we deemed too late, cos we still had to catch the ferry back to HK. We were glad that you, YY, were understanding and didnt insist on waiting for the amusement park to start operating.

The journey back was pretty rocky due to the bad weather. NN, you really insisted on going to the toilet at the most inappropriate timing and Mummy really panicked when the ferry started swaying violently while we were inside the small toilet cubicle. Mummy's only thought then was how to get you to Papa safely, bcos Mummy couldn't swim and Papa could. Silly, right? Anyway, we reached HK without coming to any harm. :)

Home for our last nite in HK was a 3 bedroom apartment near Aplieu St. Like the previous MetroPark Hotel we stayed for the first 3 nites at Wanchai, we had to walk several streets to reach the nearest MTR station. As usual, you 2 big kids told us you were tired and we took turns to carry you.

We went to the following places.

Stop 1 - Tsim Sha Tsui's Avenue of Stars
Stop 2 - Walk down Nathan Street, where we accidentally ventured into "Little India"
Stop 3 - Dinner at Mongkok and Shopping at Ladies Street

That pretty much summed up our 2nd last day in HK.

Hong Kong Trip - Day 4 - Macau

Dear YY n NN
Macau may not be a fun place for you two because of what this country represents. Casinos, Casinos and more Casinos. However, we did managed to do some sight seeing at the Ruins and Macau Tower. Your Er Shu and San Shu spent the whole night at the Casino while you two were sound asleep in the hotel room. Popo spent half the night, while Papa just went in for less than ten minutes out of curiosity. Only Mummy didnt manage to take a peek inside. Haha. Mummy had been to Macau twice and yet had not entered a Casino there before. Some people might tell Mummy what a waste, but Mummy didnt feel this way at all.

Hong Kong Trip - Day 3 - Lantau Island

Dear YY

After the funfilled day in disneyland the day before, you asked me early in the morning, "What show are we watching today?". We replied you "The Da Fo Show" (ie Big Buddha Show). You were so happy when our MTR passed by Sunnybay again. Too bad this time round we were alighting at the final stop for our cable car ride to the Big Buddha at Lantau Island. It was a refreshing ride up the mountains in the cable car. The view was great and you and NN had fun entertaining us with your Singapore Songs in the cable car. I was so proud that you managed to climb all the steps up to the Big Buddha statue on top. We counted the steps together. A total of 16 flights x 14 steps right? You also managed to climb down all by yourself. Well done, my boy!

The cable car ride back was quite scary as it was starting to turn foggy and the wind was quite strong. Mummy was real glad when our cable car reached the station.

Our next stop was to the Tsing Ma Suspended Bridge
It was already late in the afternoon and no bus was going that way. We took cabs there and you and NN enjoyed taking photos with the statues at the garden.

We were nearly stranded there as it was getting late and there was no public transport anymore. It was a lucky thing we managed to flag down a taxi and the kind hearted taxi driver let all 7 of us squeezed in his car and ferried us back to the nearest Tsing Yi MTR station.

Hong Kong Trip - Day 2 - DISNEYLAND!!!!!!

Dear YY n NN

Today must be the best day of your HK trip. Disneyland! You were so excited when our MTR stopped at Sunnybay station, the station where we alighted to transfer to the Disneyland bound train.

NN
you are without doubt your YY korkor's little sister. Both of you had the same reaction when it came to taking pic with your fav disney character. 3 yrs back, when we first brought your korkor to disneyland, he cried when it was our turn to take pix with Winnie and Tigger after some 2 hr Queue. Similarly, you were so excited while queuing up for photoshots with Mickey and Minnie. But once it was our turn, you started crying. After that, you told me you dont like Mickey Mouse anymore. Hahaha. I guessed both of you liked them only from afar.

We had a great time going for almost all the shows and rides. It would have been better if the weather was a bit more cooler.

Hong Kong Trip - Day 1

Dear YY n NN
Finally the day of the long awaited HK trip had arrived. Our flight was scheduled on 6.40am. Papa and Mummy's initial plan was to wake you two up 15mins before we leave for the airport around 5am, but you two were so excited and alerted that at the mere sound of mummy's movement in your room ard 430am, you, YY, sprang to life. Shortly NN also awoke and you two were so excited to get dressed and ready to go.

Even you, dear DD.
It was as if you could sense your korkor and jiejie's excitement. You woke up at 3am and refused to sleep after that. Poor grandma had to accompany you while mummy did some last min packing. You only felt asleep just before we left for the airport. I guessed you must have wanted to join in the fun of getting ready too. My sweet darling. :)

Dear YY n NN
We went to the following places on Day 1 of our HK trip.

Stop No 1.
Stanley Market (where Mummy shopped and shopped, seemed like only Mummy having fun here. Papa, PoPo, Er Shu and San Shu seemed bored.... You 2 kids didnt understand why we were here.)
The bus ride up here was exciting and nerve-wrecking, with the driver speeding along the winding road up and down the slopes close to the hill edges. We passed by Ocean Park and Repulse Bay along the way.

Stop No 2.
The Peak
It was freezing cold here. We had dinner here and waited till 8pm to watch the spectacular lights display on top of the skyscapers in Hong Kong Island at the bottom of the hill. Impressive!

I would say pictures speak a thousand words.

Hope you had fun on the first Day.

Night before HK trip (06/10/08)

Dear DD

You are sleeping sweetly now as Mummy is writing this post. I really feel very sorry that we can't bring you along for this trip. Even though your PoPo, Er Shu and San Shu are going with us, we still lack the confidence to bring all 3 of you along. Mummy promise you that the next overseas trip we make, we will go as a family. Stay sweet and be nice to Grandma ok? Dun make her too tired.

Mummy, Papa, Kor Kor and Jie Jie will miss you when we are in hk these few days.

Character Montessori - Family Day! (04/10/08)

My Dear YY and NN

We attended your pre-school family day on Saturday. YY, you had fun doing the aerobics exercises together with your classmate, Calista. Both of you were avid supporters of the instructor on stage! I guess you, NN, together with your other classmates, are too young to appreciate this. However, you had fun at the other games. You too, YY. It was fun preparing funny shapes using food too!
