Dear NN
These were the exact lyrics you were humming as we were seated in KKH A&E Dept last Friday (05/12/08), while the young doc was examining the deep cut next to your left eyelid. How ironical! I think even if you had eaten tons of apples aday, it still wouldn't have prevented this visit to KKH. Mummy has always feared that you would hurt yourself or others when you throw your senseless tantrums, and this time, it had really happened.
Papa had brought you to PoPo's house earlier from school when Ms Bavani called Mummy after your afternoon nap to inform us that you had been having tummyache and loose stools. According to Papa, you started to throw tantrum when Papa wanted to go back to office. You hit your head against the dining table edge and suffered a cut near your left eyelid. The cut was 1cm long and quite deep. Papa brought you to the GP downstairs, however he was unimpressed with the GP's skill of taping your cut (Very messy job! Papa claimed) and your wound was still bleeding even after that. Worried that you might need to be stitched up afterall, Papa decided to bring you to KKH A&E. When Mummy rushed to KKH, you were already your usual cheerful self. You even explained to Mummy how you got your cut. :)
Doc recommended either (1) stitching your cut or (2)taping it together with adhesive strip. Option 1 was out as it would have been impossible to get you to lie still while they stitch you up. Plus the cut was too close to your eye and it would have been dangerous if you struggled during the surgery. To sedate you was one option, but it was not without risk. Mummy and Papa didn't want any complications from this. Hence we told the doc to use tape instead. It was a neat piece of job done and your wound was clean and dry after that.
Dear NN, a few years down the road, if your scar remains, Mummy and Papa would like you to know that we had decided what we thought would be best for you at that point of time.

Loving you
Mummy
