The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Eric Carle Favourites

THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR AND OTHER ERIC CARLE FAVOURITES
Back by popular demand, Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia, Canada will perform three of Eric Carle’s stories - The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Little Cloud and The Mixed-Up Chameleon. Each story will be narrated in full. Puppeteers will manipulate life-like animal puppets in Black Light but you cannot see anyone except the puppets which will glow in the dark. Every character that comes alive on stage looks exactly like it does in the book that both parents and children have come to adore. Presented by ACT 3 International.

Dear YY and NN
We watched the Hungry Caterpillar Show at Victoria Theatre Last Saturday (22/11/08 4pm). This was the first show you ever watched in VT. We had a very good view of the stage from our 2nd row. It was such a spontaneous show for kids and had none of those hush hush atmosphere typical of a VT play. Both of you had great fun shouting out the shapes Little Cloud turned into, and were great at predicting the food the Hungry Caterpillar ate, even before the next scene came along. Maybe cos you 2 have always been avid readers of Eric Carle Stories at home?

NN, my darling ger, you are so funny. When The Hungry Caterpillar ate thru 2 pears on Tuesday, you started to whin and asked me for milk. Haha. Those colorful and pretty food must had made you salivate.

YY, you are really such a curious boy. You were the first kid to rush up and asked the crew the first question. You asked them why they were dressed in all black.

I could see that you 2 really enjoyed the play thoroughly and had great fun. Papa was just telling Mummy that we should bring you for more of such plays. Mummy will keep a lookout for more great plays and promise that all future plays/ shows shall not share the same fate as that forgotten "Atishoo" show.

Hugs & Kisses
Mummy
