It's Snowing in Singapore!

Dear YY n NN
You managed to catch this last bit of "snow" before the season ended for this Xmas. The joy of playing in the "snow" were so evident on your faces and in your joyful laughters.

Dear DD
Well, you slept again. So we would bring you to Tanglin Mall next year this time for your first encounter with "snow". Don't worry. It won't be too long a wait.

HortPark

Dear YY, NN and DD
Mummy's and Papa's first thought when we entered HortPark ground level was " Wow, what a nice patch of greenery to run around on!"
Indeed, this is the kinda grassy land which Papa always talk of owning together with his "much dreamed about" landed property. A nice patch of grass for you 3 to tread upon and lie down on carefreely. We seldom see this within the boundaries of our vertically inclined city too. Really glad for this nice green place that we can visit again.

Dear DD
This was the first time you walk on grassland without shoes. You were hesitant at first, but watched how fast you walked, after your feet had grown accustomed to the soft patch underneath!

Christmas has come and gone

Dear YY, NN and DD
Christmas this year seemed to pass so fast. Mummy haven't even had a chance to sit down with you 3 to appreciate the coming of Christmas. You have received a lot of presents this year. Some of them were given by Aunty Serene, Aunty Mich, Aunty Kar Hui & Uncle Harry. As usual, Mummy couldn't resist buying you 3 a few presents each. This is something which Papa always frown upon every Christmas as he worries about Mummy's over indulgence towards you 3 and the possibility of you "taking things for granted" in future. Mummy actually agrees with Papa on this view, but just cannot resist getting more presents for you every time Christmas approaches...

Dear YY
Papa bought you a real golf set this year so that you can start taking up outdoor golf lessons. Both Papa and Mummy feel that you are becoming "Mr Nuah" at home recently. You have appeared restless and unmotivated in your daily routine activities. We hope that some sun will do your overall development good.

Dear NN
Mummy and Papa gave you a doll house set which you enjoyed playing with your Ryan KorKor. Your "house" is bare with no furnitures save for 6 small occupants. Your Korkor didn't hesitate to call upon all his Ben 10 & Alien friends, and Transformers for a visit to your doll house. Truly an alien invasion which both of you had fun with!

Dear DD
You had a tricycle as your christmas present this year. Papa and Mummy are looking forward to bringing you on your tricycle downstairs for some funtime, together with your JieJie's and KorKor's soon.

Of course, there were also other fun and lovely presents which you unwrapped on X'mas day. Mummy decided to keep those and let you 3 play at a later stage. Just to make sure you 3 were not over-whelmed by new toys all at one go.

DD's new Doggy

Dear DD
We passed by Build a Bear Shop at Viviocity and your KorKor and JieJie wanted to make a bear for you as your bday present. You chose a dog instead and KorKor Ryan helped you to stuff it and chose its clothes and shoes.

Hope you like your new doggy, Spike (name chosen by KorKor also)!

Rhaines Birthday

Dear DD
You woke up in a very good mood in the morning. Perhaps you knew it was your big day? The sky was quite clear, a good sign that the weather would be good. Perfect for our wild wild wet trip in the day and BBQ at night!
You had fun at the children pool at Wild Wild Wet. But Mummy must say your KorKor and JieJie enjoyed it more, especially your Ryan KorKor. He was the last one out of WWW with your Er Shu! More than 3 hours after Mummy had showered you, afterwhich you had drifted into dreamland. You were really very tired!
We checked into Aloha Loyang Chalet (Seaview T4) after that. It was a very spacious chalet with a living room, dining room, kitchen and 4 big bedrooms, all with attached bathrooms. Your JieJie mistook it to be Grandma's new house! This was where we would be spending the night.
Papa and Mummy had decided that we would celebrate your birthday with all our immediate extended family only. This is similar to how we have been celebrating your Kor Kor's and Jie Jie's previous birthdays all the while, before they go to school. In future, you may wanna invite your friends and classmates to your birthday party. But right now, it's family first for you. :)

Rhaines is One Year Old

Dear DD
At this instant, in this first hour of your 1 year old birthday, Mummy can't help but think that time really flies. From a little 2.85kg infant one yr ago to the cute toddler that you are now, you have brought lots of joy and laughter to our big family of 5. You have a mind of your own now and you are equally fierce towards your KorKor and JieJie, when it comes to fighting for your rights to the toys. You are a daredevil where walking is concerned. You have just started to walk a few unsupported steps recently. Yet you will not hesitate to let go of our hands while we are guiding you. Perhaps it is because you trust that we will definitely reach out for you if you stumble or fall? This innocent trust from you is so dear to Mummy and Papa.

Mummy hope you will have a great day when you wake up in the morning.

Meet and Greet with Mickey and Minnie

Dear YY and NN and DD

We went for the "Meet and Greet with Mickey and Minnie" photo session at T3 last Sunday. We had to thank Aunty Sookmun for queueing up since 245pm for the 530pm session. We had gone for the photo session with Mickey & Minnie last year at Parkway Parade too. Then, DD was still in Mummy's tummy. DD was also not present in our recent Disneyland photo with the 2 mousey.
Mummy had thought that this time round, all 5 of us could take a family photo together. However, our sleepyhead DD fell asleep just as our car entered T3 carpark. Mummy didn't have the heart to wake you up. So we didn't manage to take the photo as a family again. :(

First Piano Performance

Dear YY
You had your first solo piano performance today in your music school.
The 2 pieces are (1) Money can't buy everything, and (2) Ping Pong.
Only one parent is allowed to attend the performance, so your Papa went to cheer you on.

We are so proud of you, my boy!

Babies Prom 2008

SYNOPSIS
Peter Moore, conductor-presenter
The delightful Uncle Peter Moore returns to join the Singapore Symphony Orchestra in the wildly popular Babies’ Proms at the Victoria Concert Hall. Let the SSO and Uncle Peter lead your children on an amazing, fun-filled musical adventure, and give your child a headstart in classical music.

Dear YY and NN and DD
Papa and Mummy decided to bring all 3 of you to VCH. It proved to be a very fun and interactive SSO performance. The conductor even invited young children on stage to conduct the Orchestra! However, NN, you were scared of the 2 clowns giving out balloons during the pre-concert period.
We had a very good view from our 2nd row seats, thanks to Aunty Michelle.
YY, you looked like you enjoyed the performance very much. You even walked to several instruments when the conductor invited you children on stage to stand next to your favorite instruments at the end of the performance.
DD, even you were dancing to the music at the start of the performance!

After that, Papa and Mummy brought you to Popeye's at Singapore Flyer for lunch. We bumped into Uncle Hock Yong and family and decided to make a trip together to the nearby Marina Barrage after lunch. It was an interesting place to visit.
YY, you were very excited to see the stimulation of the barrage at work. Mummy is sure that a few years down the road, this Barrage will become an interesting topic for you in your Geography textbook!

Dear NN
These were the exact lyrics you were humming as we were seated in KKH A&E Dept last Friday (05/12/08), while the young doc was examining the deep cut next to your left eyelid. How ironical! I think even if you had eaten tons of apples aday, it still wouldn't have prevented this visit to KKH. Mummy has always feared that you would hurt yourself or others when you throw your senseless tantrums, and this time, it had really happened.
Papa had brought you to PoPo's house earlier from school when Ms Bavani called Mummy after your afternoon nap to inform us that you had been having tummyache and loose stools. According to Papa, you started to throw tantrum when Papa wanted to go back to office. You hit your head against the dining table edge and suffered a cut near your left eyelid. The cut was 1cm long and quite deep. Papa brought you to the GP downstairs, however he was unimpressed with the GP's skill of taping your cut (Very messy job! Papa claimed) and your wound was still bleeding even after that. Worried that you might need to be stitched up afterall, Papa decided to bring you to KKH A&E. When Mummy rushed to KKH, you were already your usual cheerful self. You even explained to Mummy how you got your cut. :)
Doc recommended either (1) stitching your cut or (2)taping it together with adhesive strip. Option 1 was out as it would have been impossible to get you to lie still while they stitch you up. Plus the cut was too close to your eye and it would have been dangerous if you struggled during the surgery. To sedate you was one option, but it was not without risk. Mummy and Papa didn't want any complications from this. Hence we told the doc to use tape instead. It was a neat piece of job done and your wound was clean and dry after that.
Dear NN, a few years down the road, if your scar remains, Mummy and Papa would like you to know that we had decided what we thought would be best for you at that point of time.

Loving you
Mummy

Aspiring F1 car racer!

Dear DD
You really have this thing for steering wheels. You get so excited every time you go behind a set of wheels. You will be jumping up and down, with your saliva dripping all over the steering wheel. No wonder PaPa always wonder how come his steering wheel is wet everytime Mummy put you in the driver's seat while waiting for Papa. My dear boy, you will have to wait for another 17 years to get your driving license.

Dora Dora Where Are You?

Dear NN
PaPa and Mummy brought you and your 2 bros to Parkway Parade last Sunday for the "Meet and Greet with Dora and Diego" session. Dora has been your favorite cartoon character for quite awhile already. But.... but you fell asleep ten minutes before the scheduled time for Dora to appear. :( DD also fell asleep. In the end, only your Kor Kor YY managed to enjoy the show. Nevertheless, you were still quite happy to take photo with Dora's poster after that. You had fun in Dora's Playhouse as well.

Our As-Old-As-Ryan Christmas Tree

Dear YY
It's the last month of the year again. Time to celebrate Christmas again. YY, we made you in charge of the christmas tree this year and you had fun decorating it with your dear sis, NN. Papa and Mummy bought this tree for you when you were a wee baby. We thought you would have enjoyed looking at the lit tree, and it also gave Mummy more excuses to buy you more christmas presents (so that the tree won't look so bare underneath!) So this tree shares the same birth year as you, and you actually commented that you have grown taller than the tree this year!

Dear NN
This year, you are mature enough to help your Kor Kor set up the christmas tree. Last year this time, you were still more pre-occupied with removing every single ball and decorative piece that we put up on the christmas tree. A feat that drove your Kor Kor Ryan crazy with anger, as he had painstakingly helped to decorate the tree with Papa then.

Next year this time, DD will be able to join you two in this fun. :P

Papa has decided not to place your christmas presents underneath the tree so early this year. He has told you 2 that Santa will only give presents to obedient children. Mummy doesn't know how much you believe him, but Mummy do hope that you will be obedient and sensible regardless of whether you get presents from Santa or not.

Loving you
Mummy
